This camera stinks. It was so bad I immediately sent it back and ordered a Vitek for only $20.00 more from Amazon.And let me tell you how great Amazon is. They understood and took the Mace back, no questions asked.They even gave me a prepaid label for UPS.Now that's a class act.I've been shopping at Amazon for less than a year now but I am becomming more of a dedicated shopper lately as I appreciate the customer service.And I always get to talk to a person who speaks ENGLISH. That is very important to me. I can't stand talking to a foreigner who has no clue and tries to read from a script.In broken English, no less.SO about this Mace camera, as I said, it stinks. There is very limited coler, almost non-existant. The clarity was fair but not what I would call good.And the night vision is just lousy.It was not worth $10.00, much less $70.00 plus shipping and tax.Old Sony CCD technology and really not that good. Clarity and distance is poor in daylight, really bad at night. The infared used is very weak. The Lux rating is too high so you have to have a bright light on to make it work. It will not work at all with moonlight.Also, the biggest peeve is the Mace Tech Support. The support at Mace is not very intelligent. The Tech person I spoke to was Mexican or something and spoke like a gang banger or street urchin. He said I can't mount the camera to a vinyl sided home because vinyl is porous.Hey, wood is porous, brick is porous, stone and brick is porous, what ISN'T porous?Glass...I don't live in a glass house, my good man.That rep needs a grammar school education...HEY, we U.S. citizens even pay for FREE education if you're illegal. He should take advantage of that and get off the drugs.Terrible on Mace's part for even hiring people like that...but Mace is Chinese and the Chinese don't understand the language and people over here very well. Tey probabbly don't KNOW the guy speaks RAP and is giving them a bad reputation, ruining their business.You see, way to many people are hesitant to speak up about things like this. They think...oh well, it wasn't THAT much money and I don't want a hassle or I don't have the time to refund a product.Not me, if it's junk, it's going back. I work hard for my money and I expect quality when I do spend it.Now, if you want a great camera for your dollar, try a VITEK camera.After buying over 12 cameras I finally found real quailty with Vitek.Yes, you do pay a bit more but you get a product that actually works and is worth the money.The VITEK CCTV VT-PIRC2/H Color PIR Camera with Working Motion Detection, 600 TVL, 3.8mm Lens, 12VDC - Complete with wall/Ceiling Mount is only $20.00 more and it is a real good camera.Even if cost more, it's a good camera.Perfect colors, sharp resolution.Before I bought a VITEK, I called the company direct.The VITEK Rep I spoke to is in the U.S.A. and is English speaking and intelligent to boot.He was concerned, answered all my questions, was very helpful in choosing the right camera for me AND he didn't try to over-sell me. He recommended his cheapest product. That's right, I said his cheapest camera.Where do you find that kind of honesty and integrity today in this world.Yes, I am a fan of both AMAZON and VITEK. Forever or as long as they maintain those high standards I have been shown.
