3Fantastic when it works
By Terry Fedick
The camera works great for the most part but has a trigger issue in a dark room it tends to every couple minutes or so click a couple times Very noticeable. Its range is fairly well mine are set about 70 feet from the router. If you are looking for color images it seems to only work well in very bright locations I need to focus closely near a light source before we get a color image. I myself do not need it to be color as just for security but it would have been better had I known before hand. This is a new camera so they are working out the bugs with firmware updates but the camera could do better had they worked out the bugs before releasing it to us in the real worls.

4Works good for the price and is great for home use
By Heather
I had purchased the JPT3815W camera and was successful with it and decided to upgrade thinking this one would be easier to set up and plus the power chord was way longer. The manual is much better; however, it took a little exploring to realize it was on the disk that comes with it. When running through the setup the first time, it didn't work. After trying a few more times I finally got a picture and then I was able to setup the port forwarding on my router. My camera didn't come with the username for the DDNS setup and after emailing with Tenvis they would tell me to use the P2P app and I didn't need one. Well the P2P does not work on my phone (LG Intuition), it crashes when I click add camera. All do except the IP Cam Viewer and I need a DDNS username for my camera. I then realized that under Network Setup and DDNS I could click on My Account next to the DDNS Provider and create my own free account through Tenvis. After that I was able to get it online and almost everything worked how it should. The picture is better than the JPT3815W but not extremely and there is an SD Card slot for recording. I wanted to have a way to record motion without keeping the computer on because I use my smart phone to monitor it mostly and this works great, however, I cannot access the video from my phone I have to login to a web browser on the computer. There is a clicking noise when the camera goes from dark to light but I use it in the living room and I usually don't notice it. I have not been able to make the email alerts work for motion detection. It says everything is ok and I send a test email and it works just fine, I just don't get an email when it detects motion. I was able to use the audio on the camera just fine and I could speak through the camera and it was very loud compared to the JPT3815W model, but as soon as I was not connected to my wifi at home I could not speak through the camera anymore. I could still listen but I could not talk. I would recommend the camera as long as you are prepared to have to search for setup answers and know your way around the computer well. It sounds like there are a lot of kinks to work out still.

5Instructions not the best, but fairly impressed with color and picture quality.
By Daniel E. Juraschek
I did a lot of research and you tube video viewing on this 720P camera. I wanted the cheapest 720P I could find to use as a baby monitor for now and a river watching camera later. After looking at fox com and a cheaper flashier one with chrome trim, I went with this one as it seems to have really superior image quality for both night vision and daytime colors. I havent tried the two way voice feature yet but I believe it to work. The instructions are a little unclear, but essentially you plug it in, hook it up to your windows laptop with the eathernet cord (included), run the two apps they give you to set up the mac address and name the camera. The second app takes you into the internet browser portal, and all you have to do is set up the wifi portion (i.e. pick a network and enter passwords), and you are good to go. I havent tried setting it up / accessing from networks outside home yet, that is the next project, but the android apps it recommends work better than others I have tried. Pan / tilt / rotate all work quite well. The image is especially detailed the closer it is, not sure if this will quite meet my needs as a river watching device, but will be perfect for security and everything else.
