Get a Foscam if you are a Mac user, that would make your life a lot easier when you try to set this camera up. However, if you are a heavy PC user without much experience on port forwarding, then Wansview would be your optimal choice. The setup and viewing softwares that come with Wansview Camera are Windows-based (exe files). So if you do not know how to find your camera's IP address using a Mac, then you are out of luck!As for PC users, this camera actually comes with a Manufacture's DDNS web address, which means that you do not need to register for a DYNDNS address for remote access. This free DDNS address feature is not provided in Foscam, users will have to go to a third party to set up an account.Finally, I got totally frustrated when it comes to viewing the streaming video on my Mac. Sounds simple, huh? But no matter what I tried, I could not get the wansview camera to display the video correctly using any web browser (I tried Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Safari). I got this miniature (smaller than a postal stamp) streaming video, instead of the full size 480x640 image. Eventually, I have to use Internet Explorer through VMWare Fusion to display the video correctly on my Mac. However, if you mainly use this camera on your iPad or iPhone, then you can buy the "IP Cam Viewer Pro" app to control and view your camera.I think this manufacturer (the same company as Foscam) should do a better job on educating Mac users about the software to use for this particular camera. The product description is deceptive that it makes you think that the camera would work with Mac and iPhone out of the box. I will post an update when I find a way to have this camera displays correctly on my Mac.
